Flight to Abu Dhabi cancelled after suspected bird hit at Kannur airport

Kannur, Sept 14 (UNI) An Air India flight bound for Abu Dhabi was cancelled today after a suspected bird hit led to extended checks at Kannur International Airport. No one was injured, authorties said.
Airport officials said Boeing 737-8AL aircraft, carrying 180 passengers, departed at 6:30 am but circled in the air for about 45 minutes to burn fuel before returning to the airport at 7:35 a.m. The plane landed safely and was later moved to the air bay for inspection and technical checks.
Alternative arrangements are being made to transport the passengers to Abu Dhabi on a Sharjah-Kannur service, officials added.
