Five of family in Thane booked for harassing woman for dowry

Thane, Dec 9 (UNI) Five members of a family from Ambernath town of the district were booked by the Thane police on the charge of allegedly harassing and beating a young pregnant housewife for dowry, resulting in "miscarriage".
An offence under sections 313, 324, 323, 498-A, 342, 504 and 506 of Indian Penal Code has been registered with the Hill Line police station against the accused persons, police said and informed that no arrest has been made so far in this connection.
The 22-year-old woman alleged in her complaint that after some months of bliss following her marriage to the main accused (her husband) in 2015, the in-laws started harassing her on trivial matters and even demanded money from her parents.
