Five more kids die due to encephalitis in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Oct 6 (UNI) With five more children died due to encephalitis in Baba Raghav Das Medical College here today, the death toll has risen to 308. Official sources here said three children hailed from Kushinagar and one each from Gorakhpur and Deoria districts. The sources said that out of 1,450 patients of encephalitis admitted to BRD medical college since last January 1, 308 have died till date. Fifteen fresh cases were admitted to hospital today. In all, 134 patients are currently being treated. Patients from Gorakhpur, seven districts in Basti region, Azamgarh, Ballia, Gonda, Mau, Ghazipur, Balrampur, Bihar and neighbouring country Nepal get treatment at BRD medical college.
