Five more children die from measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh, taking death count to 464

Dhaka, May 18 (UNI) The measles outbreak in Bangladesh continues to worsen as five more children fell prey to the disease-linked symptoms in the past 24hrs on Monday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services, taking the death toll to 464.
During the same period, 1,405 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals nationwide, out of which 89 cases were laboratory-confirmed as measles.
The disease has hit the Dhaka division the hardest, while severe secondary clusters have been noted in Rajshahi, Chattogram, and Khulna divisions, and has overall reached 61 of the nation's 64 districts.
