Five, including infant, killed in UP road accident

Shravasti (UP), Aug 11 (UNI) five people, including an infant, died today after a speeding tractor-trolley attached with a concrete mixer crushed a motorcycle carrying six passengers near Rahmatu village under the Hardatt Nagar Girant police station area of the city.
Police said the accident occurred when Vijay Verma (30), a resident of Mangal Purwa village in Bahraich district, was traveling on a motorcycle with his wife Sunita (28), one-year-old son, sister Mangalawati (40), nieces Neetu (19), and Gyanwati (30). The family was heading from Shankarpur to Nawabganj after celebrating the Raksha Bandhan festival.
As they approached Rahmatu village, hardly 500 meters from Harbanspur police outpost, their motorcycle collided head-on with the mixer machine. The impact threw all six riders on the road, and the speeding tractor ran over them before overturning. The driver of the tractor also sustained injuries in the crash.
