Five held for clandestinely ferrying 2 Sri Lankan nationals

Rameswaram, Mar 25 (UNI) Police have arrested five persons for unlawfully ferrying a Sri Lankan Tamil woman refugee and her girl child back to their nation in a clandestine boat from Pamban coast, here last night.
Acting on a tip off, a police team combed the Pamban North Coast and nabbed two persons on suspicion. The duo was identified as Vijayakumar (26) and Ramanan (24), both hailing from Trincomalee in Sri Lanka. They came to India as refugees and were staying in a refugee camp at Pollachi.
Vijayakumar and Ramanan with the help of three locals illegally ferried a woman refugee and her girl child back to Lanka in a clandestine boat, after she expressed her desire to be back with her husband.
