New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) The Delhi Commission for Women along with Childline and Delhi Police rescued 5 girls, including 2 minors from human trafficking from the New Delhi Railway station, DCW said on Friday.
The Commission received information from an NGO on Tuesday that 5 girls were being sent to West Bengal from Delhi by Duranto Express. After this information, DCW formed a team and reached the New Delhi Railway Station along with Childline and Delhi Police and rescued the girls from platform No 5.
The girls said that they were brought to Delhi by a woman and a man on the pretext of providing jobs. The girls said that they were kept captive in a room in Madanpur Khadar village, but they were not able to recall the address of the house. One of the girls had managed to call her home wherein she informed her family about their condition following which an FIR was registered against a woman at Dholahat police station in South 24 Pargana district, West Bengal, DCW said.
