Five cattle smugglers arrested in Palamu, 75 animals rescued

Daltonganj, Nov 25 (UNI) Police today arrested five cattle smugglers and rescued 75 animals which were being smuggled in containers on the NH-98 of the Palamu district.
Chattarpur SDPO Sambhu Prasad Singh on Wednesday said that a tip-off had been received regarding animals being smuggled inside containers through the NH after which a vehicle search drive was launched in the area.
During the drive from a container, 50 animals were rescued while from another truck the remaining animals were found. The driver and other occupants of both the vehicles were later arrested.
