First traction substation over Hubballi division of SWR directly charged under open access

Hubballi, May 28 (UNI) In spite of the Covid-19 crisis and the Lockdown being warranted to prevent the spread of the virus, first Traction substation at Bellari over South Western Railway (SWR) has been charged under open access.
Power allocation of 10 Mw from BBRCL and power corridor agreement with Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) has facilitated the commissioning of this Traction Sub Station at Bellari, according to an SWR release here on Thursday.
On May 27 night at odd hours was a historic moment for Hubballi Division of SWR as its first Traction Substation at Bellari to get energized and made life under Open Access policy. Till yesterday power for the recently electrified section of Bellari - Kariganuru and Bellari- Rayadurga section was being extended from Traction Sub Station in Guntakal Division.
