First passenger train on Digha bridge hits road block

Patna, Feb 3 (UNI) The maiden run of a passenger train on Digha-Sonepur rail bridge across Ganga river today hit a road block after villagers disrupted its movement at Pahelja Ghat station of the train in support of their demand for rechristening the station as Bharpura station.
A large number of people from Bharpura village in Saran district squatted on railway tracks at Pahleja Ghat railway station from early morning in support of their demand and stopped 75216 Patliputra-Barauni passenger train when it reached the station around 0905 hrs.
Passengers on board the train had a harrowing time due to the agitation as they spent more than four and half hours at Pahlejaghat railway station before their agony ended.
