EntertainmentPosted at: Nov 28 2017 1:07PM First look of Sandeep Singh biopic revealedNew Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) The first look of 'Soorma', the biopic on life of Arjun Award-winning IndianHockey player Sandeep Singh, featuring Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh alongside Taapsee Pannu, was onTuesday unveiled by the makers.Directed by Shaad Ali and jointly produced by Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh and SnehaRajani of Sony Pictures network productions, the film is scheduled for release on June 29 next year.The teaser poster of the film was unveiled yesterday.Diljit Dosanjh will essay the title role in the film, which is inspired by events from the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh and the woman who inspired him to join the game and stood by him throughout his journey.Taapsee Pannu will be seen as his love interest in the film.The film, which also stars Angad Bedi and Chitrangda Singh, will be releasing next year.Diljit Dosanjh yesterday shared the first poster of the film on his twitter handle.“A winner wins the game, here’s one who will win all your hearts,'' Diljit wrote:In the first poster of the untitled film, which has gone viral on the internet and created lot of buzz on the social media, half hidden faces of Diljit and hockey star Sandeep are shown.Tweeting about the film, actress Chitrangda Singh said,''DontLetThisStoryPass.This will make you believethat Impossible is nothing.''Speaking about the film, Sneha Rajani of Sony Pictures Networks Productions said, ''Some stories give life a whole new meaning, this is surely one of them.''The hockey legend thanked the makers for bringing his story on the big screen.''Thank you Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangda Singh, Deepak Singh, Diljit pajji, Shaad Ali, for bringing my story on the big screen,'' he said.Trade sources said Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu have started preparations for the film. Both actors are going through extensive training to play their parts to perfection.Speaking about the film, Taapsee, who has already started shooting for it, said she is looking forward to joining this film as sports is an important part of her life. “I was really looking forward to joining this film as sports is an important part of my life. Shooting at one of my most favourite places in India, Punjab…. With a few days of hockey sessions already completed and many more to come, I am looking forward to playing on my home ground.”The biopic is a love story revolving around Taapsee and Diljit, where both are playing the role of hockey players.This will be Diljit’s first Hindi film as a lead actor.
