First Chimney Shell of NTPC Kahalgaon plant inaugurated

Bhagalpur, Sep 28 (UNI) In a significant milestone for NTPC Kahalgaon plant, first Chimney (Unit-5) Shell Casting of Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) Project was inaugurated on Thursday through video conferencing, marked a crucial step towards bolstering environmental compliance efforts.
Ujjwal Kanti Bhattacharya, Director (Projects) of NTPC Limited, inaugurated Chimney Shell, accompanied by esteemed guests including DSGSS Babji, RED (East-I), and N P Shahar, Head of Project (Kahalgaon) . The ceremony witnessed the presence of senior executives from NTPC Kahalgaon, BHEL, and various associated agencies.
During the inauguration, Shahar, Head of Project (Kahalgaon), extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, Ujjwal Kanti Bhattacharya. He provided an overview of the ongoing FGD projects at NTPC Kahalgaon, highlighting their pivotal role in ensuring environmental compliance.
Director Bhattacharya commended the dedicated efforts of the Kahalgaon team in executing the FGD projects. He expressed gratitude towards the employees and associated agencies for their unwavering commitment to the project.
Rakesh Chauhan, GM (FGD), expressed his appreciation for the successful inauguration of the shell casting, underscoring the collaborative spirit that made this achievement possible. The event also saw the presence of Ajay Sharma, GM (O&M), Hafizur Rahman Mallik, GM (FM), Chandrasis Ghoshdastidar, GM (TS), and other senior officials.
This milestone paves the way for further advancements in the plant's eco-friendly initiatives, solidifying its position as a leader in responsible energy production.
