First census of water bodies launched in J&K

Srinagar, Aug 11 (UNI) The maiden census of water bodies was on Tuesday launched in Jammu and Kashmir to capture information on important parameters of water bodies, an official spokesman said on Tuesday evening.
He said Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr Pawan Kotwal, today launched 1st Census of Water Bodies of Jammu and Kashmir during a function which was attended by Director Planning and Tehsildars of District Srinagar and Budgam.
The Census of Water Bodies will capture information on important parameters of water bodies like their number, size, condition, type of use, storage capacity etc irrespective of their use both in rural and urban areas of Jammu and Kashmir so that a sound data base on water bodies could be worked out for effective planning and policy formation besides a useful reference for the researchers.

Chandigarh, Sep 20 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday said it was shameful that chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh was trying to befool farmers yet again after backstabbing them and asked him to first tell why he had supported the framing of the agricultural ordinances before asking any questions from the opposition.
