FIR registered against sub-inspector for disproportionate assets in Ghazipur

Ghazipur, Jan 22 (UNI) An FIR has been registered against Sub-Inspector Dinesh Kumar Yadav, a resident of Tajpur Manjha village in Ghazipur district, in connection with a case of allegedly acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The complaint was lodged at Zamania Kotwali police station by Inspector Amit Kumar Singh of the Anti-Corruption Organization (ACO), Saharanpur unit, officials confirmed on Thursday. At present, Sub-Inspector Dinesh Kumar Yadav is posted in Sultanpur district.
According to Inspector Amit Kumar Singh, a letter dated January 21, 2022, issued by senior departmental authorities, directed an inquiry into the movable and immovable assets of Sub-Inspector Yadav. Based on preliminary findings suggesting the likelihood of disproportionate assets, the Superintendent of Police (Public Grievances), Lucknow, recommended a detailed open inquiry.
Following orders issued on January 19, 2024, by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Organization, Lucknow, Inspector Singh was assigned to conduct the investigation.

Shimla: Nepal-origin man found murdered on Pabbar river bank

Shimla, Feb 19 (UNI) The body of a 36-year-old Nepal-origin man, identified as Rakesh Pratap, was recovered from the banks of the Pabbar River under Chidgaon police station on Wednesday. Police said the deceased had sharp-edged weapon injuries on his head, and his hands and feet were tied, indicating murder. A case has been registered under Sections 103 and 3(5) of the IPC.
