Financial condition of farmers deteriorating due to increasing costing in agriculture: Tikait

Basti, Dec 11 (UNI) Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait here said increasing costing in agriculture and inappropriate prices of crops leading deterioration of financial condition of farmers in state.
Addressing the farmers gathering here on Wednesday, Mr Tikait said despite of several claims of Central and state governments of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), farmers were not getting justified price of crops. He said that economical condition of farmers was deteriorating and agriculture hard to do.
Mr Tikait said that price of sugarcane should be at least Rs 450 per quintal as cost price of sugarcane farming has increased. He alleged that paddy buying by government was only on papers. He said that government should focus on execution of the scheme as it should be on ground level.
