Finally, BSY meets Shah, gets high command nod to expand cabinet on August 20

New Delhi, Aug 17 (UNI) The BJP central leadership on Saturday finally gave its nod to Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to expand his cabinet on August 20.
"BJP legislative party meeting will be held on Tuesday 10 am (August 20) at the Conference Hall, Vidhana Soudha. And the cabinet expansion will take place on the same day post noon," tweeted Mr Yediyurappa after meeting with BJP chief and Home Minister Amit Shah here.
In another missive, the Chief Minister's Office said during his discussions with Mr Shah, the newly installed Karnataka Chief Minister discussed the flood situation and other developmental issues concerning the southern state.
Mr Yediyurappa also met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
On Friday, the Chief Minister had met Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and discussed matters pertaining to civil aviation and railway communications and projects.
On his meeting with Mr Puri, the Chief Minister's Office has said that both Mr Puri and Mr Yediyurappa also discussed setting up a Joint Venture Company or Special Purpose Vehicle with AAI to develop, maintain and operate state-owned airports.
They also took up for discussions the works related to 'expediting the work' at Shivamogga Airport.
Mr Yediyurappa took oath as Chief Minister on July 29 after JD(S)-Congress government fell. The delay in the cabinet expansion amid floods in the state was widely criticised by opposition parties.
