Puducherry, Jan 20 (UNI) The total electoral strength in the Union Territory of Puducherry after the summary revision of the electoral rolls with January 1, 2021 as the qualifying date stood at 10,03,681.
Chief Electoral Officer Shurbir Singh who released the final voters list on Wednesday said, women voters outnumbered men with a strength of 5,30,828 as against the 4,72,736 male voters.
The UT is also having 117 third gender with 97 in Puducherry region and 20 in Karaikal region.
He said that the total electorate as on November 16, 2020 was 9,74,754 and during the summary revision, 39,562 voters were admitted while,10,635 voters were deleted.
Puducherry region is with an electoral strength of 7,73, 378 while Karaikal region is having 1,61,464, Mahe region 31,092 and Yanam region 37,747.
The final list will be displayed in all the polling booths, Mr Singh said and added that the new voters will be provided with their Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) on January 25, the National Voters Day.
Those who were left out could enrol their names during the continuous updation of the electoral rolls, he added.
