Filmmaker Dasgupta inaugurates Bengali Film Festival in Hyd

Hyderabad,Jul 19 (UNI) The inaugural ceremony of the sixth edition of Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival was held at Prasad Labs, Banjara Hills here on Friday.

The three-day festival was inaugurated by filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta along with film actor Nagarjuna Akkineni.

Actress Amla Akkineni, Partha Pratim Mallik, Director, Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival, Chandana Khan, former IAS Officer and among others took part in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nagarjuna Akkineni expressed his happiness that Annapurna Studio was associated with the festival as knowledge partner and hoped that children of Annapurna Film Akademi would get benefit from this tremendous knowledge.

While referring to his wife Amala and Father-in-Law, Mr Nagarjuna said that the Bengali culture was very embedded into his life and he was enjoying the culture through them.

About 50 film personalities including eminent actress Ms Swastika Mukherjee and Rituparno Sengupta would participate in the festival.

Keeping in view of 100 years of Bengali Cinema, the film festival will also showcase several classics from Bengali Movie world, the organisers said.
