Film producer Shakeel Noorani appoints SC lawyer Aashutosh Srivastava to fight his case against Sanjay Dutt

Pune Sep 17 (UNI) Film producer Shakeel Noorani has appointed prominent Supreme Court lawyer Aashutosh Srivastava to fight his prolonged criminal case against film actor Sanjay Dutt. The case is pending before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Andheri, Mumbai since 2013.
Talking to UNI, Mr Srivastava said Mr Noorani had handed over all relevant documents along-with No Objections of previous lawyer to fight a case against Sanjay Dutt involving a case of cheating amounting to Rs 50 lakhs which Mr Noorani had given to Mr Dutt for acting in his film titled as ‘JAAN KI BAAZI’ in 2001. Co-actress for the film was Priyanka Chopra who is told to have refunded her booking amount to the producer after realizing that the film had been left by Mr Dutt.
Mr Noorani took the decision to handover the case to Mr Srivastava on the expectations of some early positive results in the matter which is sub-judice for more than five years. The next hearing of the case has been fixed on December 10, 2018, Advocate Srivastava said.
