Fifty four services in Delhi get industry activity status

New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) Fifty four services in Delhi such as IT, education, media and warehousing have been given industrial activity status, Industries Minister Satyendar Jain said on Tuesday.
During a meeting with the factory owners at the Secretariat, Jain said that the government has cleared their operation in existing and new industrial areas.
Brijesh Goyal, convener of AAP Trade Wing, who took part in the meeting, said that software, HR, accounting, publishing, architecture, travel and tourism, and many other important activities like media, education, packaging, research, biotechnology, warehousing were not treated as industrial land use under the masterplan and in many cases were treated as commercial activities, due to which civic agencies are charged with heavy conversion charges and commercial rates.
He said Mr Jain had recommended to the DDA for this, and the DDA considered 54 service activities in 9 categories to be operable in the industrial areas and approved.
All these activities will now get the status of industrial activity in the new and old existing industrial areas.
With this, the floor area ratio FAR (floor area ratio) in the industrial area has been increased from 150 to 200.
Now due to the FAR 200, the ground coverage will increase by about 25 per cent and the industrial plot of 100 sqm will get covered area of 200 sqm. So far, such plots were getting only 150 sqm.
