FIFA World Cup 2026 closing ceremony to celebrate historic tournament ahead of final

New York, July 14 (UNI) As the largest sporting event in history reaches its conclusion, the FIFA World Cup 2026 closing ceremony, which will take place ahead of the final match at the New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19, will celebrate the 48 teams’ unforgettable journey across the three host countries and 16 Host Cities throughout the tournament.
This star-studded show will feature performances from Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams and IShowSpeed, as well as a special appearance by Tom Cruise, bringing together some of the world's biggest names in music and entertainment for an unforgettable celebration before kick-off.
Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award winner Jennifer Hudson will deliver a special rendition of the United States national anthem ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final.

Sai Sudharsan ruled out of Sri Lanka series; Sarfaraz Khan named replacement

Mumbai, Aug 9 (UNI) Sai Sudharsan has been ruled out of the Test series against Sri Lanka, the BCCI confirmed on Sunday,
The left-handed batter, who has been at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, has made significant progress in his recovery from the right toe stress reaction and is recovering well.
The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring his progress. The Men’s Selection Committee has named Sarfaraz Khan as a replacement for Sai Sudharsan for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

VVS Laxman defends Bumrah, Sai Sudharsan ‘subject to fitness’ selections
