FIFA rankings: India jumps to 152nd spot

New Delhi, Jul 14 (UNI) After registering two consecutive win over Laos in the AFC Asian Cup qualification playoffs, the Indian football team has climbed 11 places in the latest FIFA rankings released today and reached 152nd spot.
India had defeated Laos 6-1, 1-0 in two games, one away and one at home, of the qualifiers to gain 49 points. With this rankings, India has also improved its position among the Asian teams and is now at 27th spot in the continent.
Globally, Argentina remains at the top of the rankings while Belgium and Colombia are placed at the second and third position respectively. While the recently crowned Euro champions Portugal has moved up two places to occupy the sixth position, runners-up France has jumped 10 places to reach seventh and the Euro Cup's semi-finalists Wales has jumped 15 places to grab the 11th spot.
