Loudspeakers and public address system would be fittedat strategic points to announce and trace missing childrenin the push and pull of the crowd.The entire police force has been mobilised to maintainstrict vigil at Tiruvottriyur, Marina beach, ElliotsBeach and Neelangarai where public were expected tothrong in large numbers.Apart from a police control room on the beach front,police assistance booths, ambulances with a medicalteam would be kept in readiness to handle any emergency.Police have also installed watch towers at vantage pointson the beach to monitor the movement of anti-social elements.The city police would be assisted by the Coast Guard andNavy in security arrangements.Apart from the beach front, the Children’s Park at Guindy,the Arignar Anna Zoological Park at Vandalur, amusementparks like VGP Golden beach, MGM Dizee World, Kishkinda,Maayajaal and various shopping malls would be the preferreddestinations for the public.Tight security would be provided in all these places,police sources said.The State Express Transport Corporation and the ChennaiMetropolitan Transport Corporation would be operatingadditional bus services to all major places where peoplewere expected to throng on the occasion.The Southern Railway would also operate additional EMUtrains on the Chennai Beach-Chengapattu-Kancheepuram,Chennai Beach-Gummudipoondi and Chennai Central-Arakkonamsections and MRTS trains on the Chennai Beach-Velacherrysection to cope up with the expected rush.The Chennai Metro would also operate additional trainsto meet the additional rush.UNI GV
