Sheopur (MP), Mar 27 (UNI) Sasha – one of the eight Namibian cheetahs released into an enclosure at the Kuno National Park by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17 last year – succumbed on Monday following renal infection that was detected on January 23, Forest Department sources confirmed.

The female carnivore – which was being provided medical care by experts from Bhopal’s Van Vihar National Park – was approximately five years old and found dead though it was displaying improvement earlier. A team – including veterinarians – has reached Kuno from the state capital.
