FEMA issues show cause notice to Mani Group CEO for 'illegal dealings'

New Delhi, Jun 24 (UNI) The Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) has issued a show cause notice to Kolkata based eminent builder for illegal dealings and trading in foreign currencies in Singapore, illegal external borrowings and unauthorised maintaining foreign bank accounts, an official released said here on Wednesday.
The notice to builder, who is also the CEO of Mani Group Sanjay Jhunjhunwala has been issued after an investigation carried out by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on the basis of an overseas input received from Financial Intelligence Unit.
Investigation under FEMA revealed that Jhunjhunwala was the beneficial owner of account maintained at UBS, Singapore in the name of Tiger Woods International, a company incorporated in British Virgin Island.
