Entertainment » OtherPosted at: May 29 2016 8:34PM Failure to win over minorities proved dearly for UDF: IUMLKozhikode, May 29 (UNI) The Congress-led United Democratic Front's(UDF) failure to win over minorities in Kerala was the main cause of its crushing defeat in the recent assembly election in the state, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), the second largest constituent in the front today said. Briefing reporters after a state committee meet convened to analyse the May 16 assembly poll here, National Secretary E T Mohammed Basheer, MP and state General Secretary K P A Majeed, however, said the IUML was able to win 18 seats as against 20 in the previous assembly despite an anti-incumbency factor. The victory of the CPI (M)-led Left Democratic Front, which won 91 out of the 140 seats was not an approval for the service rendered for the period, but achieved through money power, the party committee noted.
