Extremely heavy rainfall likely to continue in Mumbai on Thursday morning: IMD

New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) India Meteorological Department in its latest update on Wednesday evening said that extremely heavy rainfall over Mumbai is likely to continue on Thursday (August 6).
According to IMD, the rainfall over Mumbai during 0830 hrs till 1730 hrs on Wednesday was categorized under extremely heavy rainfalls that was above 20 cm over parts of Mumbai and it was 22.9 at Colaba, and 8.8 cm at Santacruz.
The weather bureau also said that the surface winds over Mumbai has been recorded at the speed of 60-70 kmph which gradually increased upto 107kmph in gustiness during 1700-1715 hrs on Wednesday evening over Colaba.
