Extended stay in Pak only to meet then interior minister, no holidaying: Madhukar Gupta

New Delhi, Jun 11 (UNI) Former Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta today confirmed a news report that he and his delegation were requested by their Pakistani hosts to extend their stay on November 26, 2011, the day of the Mumbai terror attack, but rejected suggestions that they were holidaying in hill station Murree on the day the terror attack took place.
He said the purpose of extending their stay was to meet the Interior Minister of the country, who was travelling at that time.
Mr Gupta and his officials were sent to the picturesque hill station Murree to pass their day while awaiting the meeting with the Minister, and they came back only on November 27, according to the report.
