Exports will grow resiliently and robustly with government’s continued support: PHDCCI

New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) India’s overall exports (merchandise and services) increased by 6.18 pc, from USD 329.03 billion during April-August 2024 to USD 349.35 billion during April-August 2025, driven by higher non-petroleum and non-gems and jewellery products exports during the same period, said Hemant Jain, president of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in a communique.
Jain said, “ In August 2025, India’s overall exports (merchandise and services combined) accelerated to USD 69.16 billion in August 2025 from USD 63.25 billion in August 2024, marking a 9.34 pc increase compared to the same month last year. The growth is driven by high merchandise exports of Electronic Goods, Engineering Goods, Gems and Jewellery, Petroleum Products, and Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, among others.”
“ Amid US tariff uncertainty, the United States of America emerged among the top five export destinations, followed by China, UAE, Hong Kong, and Germany,” Jain added.
“Going ahead, we anticipate exports to grow robustly and resiliently, supported by government's continued efforts to diversify the export market and boost India’s export competitiveness,” Jain said.
