Expiry date should be mentioned on Prasadams distributed in Temples and Mutts

Mysuru, Dec 26 (UNI) Following the tragedy at Kichhagutti Maramma Temple in which 17 people died after consuming the poison mixed Prasadam distributed to the devotees on December 23, the Karnataka State Health Department has issued an order to all Temples to mention expiry date Prasadam cover without fail.
In this regard an order issued by Health Department has instructed to all The District Deputy Commissioners to see that expiry date is mentioned on the Prasadam packets as per the Union Government Food Standard and Security.
All temples, including coming under Muzarai department and Private, Mutts should adhere to this order. Besides those who are providing free food should obtain food license, the official release added.
