Expedite process for distribution house pattas to poor : CM to officials

Amaravati, Jan 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to complete the process at the earliest for the distribution of house pattas to the house-less poor.
At a review meeting here on Friday, the Chief Minister said that house pattas should be ensured to all the poor people in the state.
He said that the distribution of house pattas to the poor would be organised on Telugu new year Ugadi in March.
The government has aimed at the distribution of 25 lakh house pattas to the houseless-poor on the Ugadi day, he said.
The Chief Minister directed the officials not to take Praja Sadhikara Survey (PSS) as a benchmark to identify the poor at the ground level for the issuance of house pattas.
He said that the sites identified for the purpose should be congenial for living and to see that the beneficiaries are happy about the plots allotted to them.
Mr Reddy directed the officials to display the criteria of exemptions offered for the beneficiaries at the village secretariats and also accept fresh applications for the purpose.
He said the site allotment should be made only after the beneficiary is satisfied with it and also to grow plants in the plots.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to see that nobody was left out.
Alternative sites should be allotted to those who were living in encroached lands, he told the officials.
