Ex-servicemen to work as 'guardians of Punjab welfare schemes' at village level

Sri Muktsar Sahib, Feb 14 (UNI) Former soldiers will guard against leaks in social welfare schemes in Punjab by keeping a close vigil at the village level, in a first of its kind scheme by any state government in India.
This was disclosed here by Deputy Commissioner Sumeet Jarangal. These guardians of governance will work along with the government to implement the welfare schemes of the state and Centre governments in a more effective manner. This will make ensure to reach out the schemes to the eligible people by avoiding misuse of the schemes, he added.
