Ex Maha minister, Vandhipati Vinayakdada Patil passes away

Nashik, Oct 24 (UNI) Senior Congress leader, former minister and Vanadhipati Vinayakdada Patil passed away late last night Friday. He was 77. He has been undergoing treatment for the last few days due to health ailments. He was close to senior leader Sharad Pawar. His demise marked the loss of a well-known politician in the state. He was survived by daughters.
He has been undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for the past few days. They had just been released home. He was undergoing dialysis. He passed away at midnight yesterday. He had connections with various organizations in the city. He was the Minister of State in the Pulod government led by Sharad Pawar. He was more interested in the literary movement.
He was born on 19th August 1943 in a farming family in Niphad taluka. He was Sarpanch of Kundewadi village, Chairman of Niphad Taluka Panchayat Samiti, MLA of Niphad, Member of Legislative Council to Minister of Industry, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Services in the Cabinet of Maharashtra. In the co-operative sector, he has also served as President of Kundewadi Various Executive Co-operative Societies, President of Nashik District Co-operative Land Development Bank, Director of Niphad Co-operative Sugar Factory, Director of Nashik District Central Co-operative Bank. Along with the status of Minister of State, he was also given the chairmanship of Maharashtra State Forest Development Corporation for five years.
