Ex-INA soldier Pratap Singh hospitalised in Andaman

Port Blair, Jun 13 (UNI) Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd), has wished speedy recovery to freedom fighter Pratap Singh from these Islands. Mr Pratap Singh has been admitted in GB Pant Hospital for orthopaedic surgery and is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday. The Lt Governor also spoke with the 98-year-old over phone and wished him speedy recovery and assured him all possible support from the Administration.
The Lt Governor has directed the medical superintendent of the hospital to take special care of the freedom fighter and provide the best of treatment. Mr Singh, a sepoy of the Indian National Army, was born on June 10,1920 at Hoshiyarpur, Punjab.
He joined Indian Army on June 25, 1940 and took part in the 2nd World War with the Allies countries. He fought in Sudan and Egypt in May-June 1941.
