Every voter should exercise their franchise: Governor

Vijayawada, Jan 25 (UNI Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan said that vote is a valuable right available to citizens of the country and every voter should exercise their right.
Participating as Chief Guest at the National Voters' Day Celebrations held at here on Saturday, he said that if they voters did not go out and vote on Election Day, they would lose the valuable right given to them by the Constitution.
The Governor said India has the best Constitution given to the citizens with Fundamental Rights, equality before the law, right to freedom of speech and expression etc. guaranteed under the Constitution. The Governor “if citizens do not participate in voting on Election day, they cannot demand for their rights and appealed to all voters to exercise their right to vote”.
Later, the Governor distributed Voter ID Cards to the newly enrolled youth and presented awards to Dr. A. Ravi Shankar, Addl. DGP, A,Md. Imtiaz, District Collector Krishna, Dr. Kartikeya Mishra, Collector, East Godavari, Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli, Superintendent of Police, Kurnool and other officials for Best Electoral Practices such as Election Management, Electoral roll management, IT Initiatives. Governor also presented awards to winners of state level competitions conducted in Elocution and Essay writing on the eve of National Voters Day.
Dr.N. Ramesh Kumar, State Election Commissioner, K. Vijayanand, AP Chief Electoral Officer, A.Md.Imtiaz, Krishna district Collector were among who present.
