Eureka Forbes ties up with PRO to launch AVF technology

New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) With an aim to provide safe and healthy drinking water, leading health and hygiene company Eureka Forbes Limited today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) towards forming a strategic partnership with Process Research ORTECH (PRO) that incubates and commercialises innovative technologies for process industries.
The companies will leverage their core competencies and skills to introduce a unique and innovative technology with Automated Variable Filtration (AVF), a high quality water filtration system, to India through this collaboration, said the company.
The introduction of AVF in Nanded City of Pune has led to successful treating of over 100 million liters of water till date. This occupies a low footprint and functions at a low operating cost compared to conventional membrane-based technologies including energy cost by 30 per cent, the company added.
Automated Variable Filtration (AVF) is a state-of-the-art technology where the cleaning of the media is continuous- achieved by counter current flow of water and filtration media.
“Over a journey of 33 years, we at Eureka Forbes have remained committed towards providing our customers with healthy water solutions on par with international standards of technology and quality,’’said Mr Suresh L Goklaney, Executive Vice Chairman, Eureka Forbes in a statement.
This technology can save over Rs 1 billion of microbial membrane cost which is currently being imported and will help in improving the overall health by reducing community level impact due to Arsenic, Fluoride, Nitrate and other contaminants by saving over Rs 10 billion in health care and allied cost, the company added.
