EPS, OPs, Stalin, leaders pay homage to Vajpayee at Delhi

Chennai, Aug 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, leader of the Opposition and DMK Working President M Stalin and leaders of various parties on Friday paid homage to the mortal remains of former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee at his residence in New Delhi.
Soon after hearing about his demise, Mr Palaniswami and Mr Panneerselvam air dashed to the National Capital and paid their last respects to his body.
They were accompanied by Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai, Ministers and other leaders.
Mr Stalin too reached New Delhi to pay his last respects. DMK Rajya Sabha Members Ms Kanimozhi and Trichy N Siva and former Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran also paid their respects by placing a
wreath on the body of Vajpayee.
BJP State President Ms Tamizhisai Soundararajan and MDMK General Secretary Vaiko also paid their last respects to the mortal remains of Vajpayee.
The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday in the state as a mark of respect to the departed leader and also announced a seven day mourning.
Leaders of all parties also condoled the death of the great leader.
