Environmentalist Sant Seechewal not to contest Assy election

Fatehgarh Sahib, De 10 (UNI) Renowned environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal today said it will not contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly election.
Sant Seechewal today he was not interested in contesting the Assembly polls, but wants save environment agenda on every political party's manifesto.
Seechewal, who is leading the Ek Onkar Charitable Trust, said environment is very important issue and all political parties should be serious towards the issue. When asked why he did not want to contest assembly election and after electing as legislator he could pursue his agenda to save environment in better way, Sant Seechewal said contesting election is not his agenda. He wants to see greenery around all SGPC run Gurdwaras, deras, mandirs, churches, mosques and farmers should not be allowed to burn paddy and wheat stubble. He said religious institutions should set up their own nurseries and distributed saplings as Parshad. SGPC had already taken initiative in this direction.
