Ensure first aid kits, trained teachers to provide first aid to students in schools : KCRC to principals

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 17 (UNI) Kerala Child Rights Commission (KCRC) has ordered that all the school principals in the state should ensure the availability of first aid kits and teachers who are trained to provide first aid to students in case of emergency in the school compound.
KCRC Member Fr Philip Parakatt issued the order following a complaint received from Eby J Jose, Chairman, Mahatma Gandhi National Foundation (MGNF) in connection with the death of a student after being bitten by a snake inside the classroom at Bethery in Wayanad.
A direction in this regard was sent to the Secretary of Kerala General Education Department and the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department and the Director of the General Education to ensure the implementation of the order in all aided, unaided and government schools.
