End to End Computerization of PDS Operations in the country soon : Union Minister

Shimla, Aug 3(UNI) Union Minister of state for consumer affairs, food and public distributions C R Chaudhary on Friday told Shimla MP Virender Kashyap in Lok Sabha during Zero hours that Union Government is implementing the scheme on “End-to-End Computerization of PDS Operations” in association with the States and Union Territories to improve the efficiency of the public distribution system and to address various challenges such as leakages and diversion of food grains, elimination of fake and bogus ration cards.
He told that the scheme of End-to-End computerization is being implemented to identify and weed out the duplicate ration cards through digitization of ration cards beneficiaries and other databases, computerization of supply-chain management including online allocation of food grains, setting up of transparency portals and grievance redressal mechanisms in all States and Union Territories
