Elimination of middlemen in agriculture marketing system soon: AP Minister

Kakinada, Feb 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for agriculture and cooperation Kurasala Kannababu on Thursday has said that measures were initiated to eliminate the middlemen in the agricultural marketing system.
Participating as the chief guest at the agricultural market committee new governing body oath taking ceremony at Sambamurty nagar here, Kannababu said another Rythu Bazaar and mobile Rythu Bazaars would be opened shortly in the city to cater to the growing requirements of the consumers and to benefit the petty traders.
He also assured to sanction a mini cold storage unit in fish market area for benefiting the fishermen.
Further, the Minister has announced sanctioning of Rs 50 lakhs for the renovation of the existing Rythu bazaars.
He said plans were underway for setting up of food processing units in the city and relevant estimates are being prepared.
Later he administered oath of office to Benda Krishna Murty new market committee chairman and other members.
MP Vanga Geeta Viswanath, City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara reddy, Prattipadu MLA Parvata Poornachandra Prasad, Marketing ADM Kishore, Marketing committee secretary M .Nagalakshmi, DCMS chairman Dunna Janardhanarao, YSRCP city unit president Fruity Kumar were among those attended.
