Eligible families left out in LIFE housing scheme will be included in supplementary list: Kerala CM

Kannur, Jan 22 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that the eligible poor families who were not included in the first three phases of Livelihood Inclusion and Financial Empowerment (LIFE) mission housing scheme will also get their own houses as they will be included in the supplementary list of the scheme to be published soon.
Addressing the LIFE beneficiaries at the district-level family meet at Collectorate ground here, Mr Vijayan said several eligible families were not included in the LIFE mission housing scheme mainly due to the present norms of the scheme.
To address the concerns of such families, a secondary list will be published soon with eligible families who did not own a house, he said.
As many as 54,183 houses are being built in the first phase of the LIFE scheme, in which the construction works of 96 percentage of the houses were completed.
Out of the 91,147 houses included in the second phase, the construction of 60,524 houses have been completed, he said
The government has already taken steps to complete the construction of the remaining houses soon, Mr Vijayan said.
Industries Minister E P Jayarajan presided over the function. Health Minister K K Shailaja and Port Minister Ramachandran Kadanapally also attended the function.
