Electoral rolls data base to be updated by December 15: EG Collector

Kakinada, Dec 7 (UNI) East Godavari Collector Kartikeya Mishra has said that the electoral rolls summary revision was almost completed and the electorate data base would be updated after settling the objections and claims on the draft rolls by December 15.
He told media persons here on Friday that the number of total voters in the district was 38,40,538 at the time of draft electoral rolls publication on September 1 this year and the number has reached 39,73,659 as on this day after making changes in the electoral rolls by additions and deletions.
`The Voters and the population ratio( electors per every 1000 population ) is now went up from 701 to 725 after additions and deletions which is considered as fair as per the Election commission standards. 60,272 physically handicapped voters were mapped up through their pension data and 14,792 new voters of 18 years and above age were enrolled ’, he added.
Referring to settling of claims and objections received on the draft electoral rolls, Mr Mishra said that as against the total of 3,11,425 claims and objections 3,03,028 were settled and the remaining would be settled by December 15.
Similarly based on the data of the gram panchayats and municipalities in the district, he said,19,097dead voters and 9818 migrated voters were deleted from the electoral rolls. Logical errors of7340 voters were corrected and in case of voters aged 85 years and above were verified by the block level officers personally visiting door to door. Necessary personal verification of duplication of voters enrolled in AP and neighbouring Yanam is in progress. Every effort is being made to prepare a fair and accurate electoral rolls free from errors, he claimed.
