Election authority registers case over videos alleging 'fake voter ID cards' in Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad, Nov 11 (UNI) Election authorities on Monday clarified that videos circulating on social media alleging the presence of fake or duplicate voter ID cards in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency are misleading.
The clarification comes amid preparations for the constituency by-election to be held on Tuesday.
Officials said that a preliminary verification has revealed that most of the cards shown in the videos are old EPIC voter ID cards printed in the earlier vertical format. The Election Commission of India has since shifted to issuing new horizontal-format EPIC cards nationwide, which may have led to confusion among the public.
