Elderly woman killed in land dispute in Jaunpur; three arrested

Jaunpur, Nov 12 (UNI) An elderly woman was killed and four others, including an advocate, were seriously injured in a violent clash over a land dispute in Kachhaura village under the Singramau police station area of Jaunpur district on Wednesday.
Police have named eight people in connection with the case, three of whom have been arrested so far. According to official sources, the incident took place around 7:00 a.m. when Kevla Devi (70), wife of Satyadev Yadav, was sweeping the area in front of her house.
During this time, her neighbors, with whom a dispute over a piece of land had been ongoing, allegedly attacked her with sticks and rods after a verbal altercation. Kevla Devi sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
