Eight Thailand nationals booked for taking up religious propaganda flouting visa norms

Madurai, Apr 8 (UNI) The district police booked eight Thailand nationals, who were under medical observation at a quarantine centre here under the Foreigners Act, 1946 for taking up religious propaganda violating the tourist visa norms, police said on Wednesday.
They further said that the preachers from Thailand came to Madurai on March 12 and had visited several mosques along with two locals in the city, before they were tracked by the revenue officials at Malaipatti village in the district on March 26.
They were quarantined at Government Hospital for Thoracic Medicine (GHTM) at Thoppur near Tirumangalam in Madurai district.

Hubballi, April 19 (UNI) Niranjan Hiremath, a Congress Corporator and father of the late MCA student Neha Hiremath, who was tragically murdered on Thursday, has linked the incident to "love jihad."
Addressing the media on Friday, Hiremath expressed concern over what he perceives as the rapid spread of "love jihad" and urged mothers to accompany their college-going daughters for their safety.
