Eight die in separate incidents of lightning in Bihar

Patna, Sep 18 (UNI) At least eight people died and six others injured in separate incidents of lightning in Kaimur, Jehanabad and Arwal districts last night.







According to a report from Bhabhua, four people were killed and six others injured in Kaimur district.







Police said, one Mukhiya Ram (30) was charred to death at Panchganwa village under Bhabhua police station area. Similarly, Satyanand (25) lost his life at Amarhi village under Sonhan police station area, Rajbansh Ram (40) died at Itarhi village under Chainpur police station area and Paras Bind (50) was charred to death at Baheria village under Chand police station area after lightning struck them. The bodies had been sent to Bhabhua Sadar Hospital for autopsy.







Police said that six people who were injured in the incidents of lightning in the district had been admitted to Bhabhua Sadar Hospital. Sources said four injured people were natives of Baheria village under Chand police station area adding the condition of a girl and a woman was serious.







According to a report from Jehanabad, four people were charred to death when lightning struck them at separate places in Jehanabad and Arwal districts last night.







Police said here today that one Bachandeo Yadav (55) died when lightning fell on him amid heavy downpour at Meerganj village under Shakurabad police station area in Jehanabad district.







Similarly, one 45-year old Mohammed Azhar Hussain was charred to death when lightning fell on him in Jafarganj locality here. Sources said three goats of the deceased also perished in the incident.







Sources said the bodies had been sent to Jehanabad Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The dependents of each deceased would be provided Rs 4 lakh from disaster relief fund.







Police said similarly two people died when lightning fell on them at Medanipur Barhia village under Kurtha police station area in neighbouring Arwal district. Sources said the deceased were identified as Banshi Sao and Sampat Paswan. The bodies had been sent to Arwal Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
