Editor of local daily assaulted by armed miscreants in Imphal East

Imphal, Feb 19 (UNI) Unidentified armed miscreants physically assaulted Khoirom Loyalakpa, the Editor of a local vernacular daily Naharol Thoudang in Imphal East district on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the incident occurred near Hatta Cemetery under Porompat Police Station. The armed assailants allegedly fired two rounds at the four-wheeler of the Editor, before dragging him out of the vehicle and physically assaulting him.
The victim sustained injuries in the attack and was later rushed to JNIMS for treatment. Local residents reported hearing gunshots, and police personnel quickly arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident. Media personnel in the state expressed shock over the assault, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
