ED attaches assets worth Rs 7 Cr of Chennai trader in bogus import case

New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday said it has attached assets worth Rs 7 crore of a Chennai-based bullion trader, in connection with a bogus import case.
According to the ED, immovable properties of Padmanaban, the Chennai based bullion trader and jewellery merchant, were attached under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) in a bogus import case involving Afroz Fatta and R A Distributors Pvt Ltd.
These attached assets consists of 9600 square feet of land along with commercial building including Basement, Stilt, Ground and four floors totaling to 20,292 square feet situated at Thyagarayanagar in Chennai which is held in the name of NAC Jewellers (P) Ltd of Anantha Padmanaban.
