ECI to hold Biennial election to the Council of States for Telangana

Hyderabad, Feb 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided to hold Biennial Election to the Council of States 2018 for the State of Telangana.
The term of the three members--Ananda Bhaskar Rapolu (INC), Palvai Goverdhan Reddy (INC), vacant due to death and CM Ramesh (TDP) of the Council of States ( Rajya Sabha ) elected from the state of Telangana, is due to expire on their retirement in the month of April 2018, a statement here said on Saturday.
The Election Notification will be issued on March 5. Last date of making nominations on March 12 (Monday). The scrutiny of nominations is on March 13, while March 5 is the last date for withdrawals of candidature.
